Each month when I sit down with Lani Lynn Vale’s next book, it’s like a visit with friends—even when she rolls out a new series full of new characters. The Bear Bottom Guardians MC series is a new series, but as is generally the case with Lani’s work, it stems from another series. This series isn’t necessarily a spin-off of the Heroes of the Dixie Wardens series, it’s more like an expansion of that series. With each new book Lani releases, she builds upon those worlds, further developing her characters. The result for her readers has been an unparalleled, unique reading experience, and I’m completely hooked. New readers can step in at any point, however, and they’ll be able to ease right in from that series onward.

I think Mess Me Up may be the most gut-wrenchingly emotional story that Vale has written to date. But in true Lani style, she managed to balance all the heavy emotion with some well-timed, appropriately placed humor, a sexy romance and an interesting, suspenseful plot. The hero, Rome, suffered a devastating loss, and Vale took readers along on this man’s journey to healing and love. The road was bumpy, that’s for sure, but this man truly found his perfect match in Izzy. She could relate to his pain in a way that no one else could, and because of that, she was far more understanding than any other woman could have been. While their love story wasn’t exactly easy, it was real and raw, and Vale really brought out all the feels while telling it. Five smooches from me for Mess Me Up by Lani Lynn Vale!

This book was too fast, too much, too all over the place. I appreciate that you're a good writer, this was my first book from you. I teared up at the beginning. But if you were looking at a motorcycle book checklist, you hit all of the points without any of them being really serious. Izzy isn't around the men enough to really get to know any of them and we FLY in terms of time. Child illness, child saying creepy things about death, vengeful ex, why should we try and understand Tara that's never explained, broken childhoods, minor violence, WHY IS NO ONE WORRIED ABOUT THOSE MISSING CHILDREN UNTIL THEY'RE FOUND, and introductions to all the other drama. I read this in a day and honestly, i'm exhausted. You have the ability to write one thing and be good at it, but this book was too much. I felt like everything was thrown at me and by the end I honestly didn't care. And Wade was a state facility corrections warden who was injured in something case related. He definitely would not have actually lost his job or his union would have lost their damn minds. That should've been huge, but instead, everything is thrown in tidbits of information. I wish I could've liked this more, but I can't.
As soon as this hit my kindle, I was away reading, read it in one sitting. I just couldnt put it down. My heart broke for Rome, cried right along with him in the passing of his precious son but loved Isadora for being there in his time of need and the after. I have read every single book this author has written and thought that Papa Bear was my favourite book, but Rome and Izzy has gone into my no.1 favourite of all and Papa Bear has been bumped down to no.2.

I have ask Lani if Slate will get a book too, since I feel he deserves a HEA since going through what he went through and don't blame him for what happen to make him end up in prison. And She said YES! His book will be the last book and so looking forward to his release date!. Can't wait for Linc and Conleigh's book next.
I bought this book knowing I would love it. That's just what happens when Lani Lynn Vale is the author. What I got, however, left me with more than just the anticipation of her next release. It left me feeling lucky. Blessed, even. Izzy is a strong woman who went through things I myself have never personally experienced. She knows struggle, she knows strength, but she also knows loss, in many forms. Rome knows these things too. While Izzy's loss was unexpected and sudden, Rome lived for years knowing his loss was coming. That no matter how hard he fought it, he couldn't prevent it. But man, did he try. So hard. I'm not a mom yet, but I believe children are pieces of your heart & soul that you send out into the world to make it a better place. Some never get that chance. Some have that chance stolen in the cruelest way. But all still know love because of it. Rome & Izzy can't be described as anything but soulmates & saviors after reading their story. I can only imagine how hard their story must have been to write, but Lani, thank you for sticking it out because while my heart broke for both Rome and Izzy, my tears as I read the last chapter fell out of joy for them.
