If you love the Fallen Crest series by Tijan and you enjoyed The Royals series by Erin Watt you will want to read this book ASAP!!! I also must admit that I loved Boys of Brayshaw High way more than I did The Royals. And it might even be a better balanced high drama YA novel than Fallen Crest – I actually shocked myself with this statement.Raven/Rae is one of the best heroines in contemporary romance.
She doesn’t care about anything, she keeps her head high and makes sure she survives whatever is thrown at her. But if she’s attacked, girl that woman can dish out! This attitude is KILLER! The novel kept me flipping pages like an insane person. Intrigued from the very first chapter, it wasn’t surprising at all that I couldn’t put it down. My heartbeat sped up the more I read. I couldn’t stop thinking about Rae and the boys. Because they were the heart and soul of this story. One girl and three guys – and I LOVED it!!! Now, I’m not talking menage (in the strictest sense – lol), but a tight group of four, where the adoration goes four-ways.
The heat between Rae and Maddoc was sizzling!! Big Man Maddoc is the one that makes her heart sing – and mine too if I’m honest. He is the brooding, quiet type. Nevertheless he pulls the strings and has the last word, especially when it concerns Rae. Of course Rae always has something to say as well – so bickering and sexual tension galore.
The author wrote some incredibly unique scenes, and made this YA high-school trope far more interesting than expected. Even though the high school trope is one of my favorites, it can get old over time. So color me impressed - but this novel was UNPUTDOWNABLE.

Boys of Brayshaw High edition by Meagan Brandy Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I saw this book advertised and decided to pick it up on a whim. I have never read this author before, don't normally buy from new authors that are not recommend to me, and hardly ever pay full price for anything new (been burned too many times); but this book drew me in and I decided to take a chance. Right from the first chapter I was absorbed into this amazing world with such detail and complex characters. I could not put it down and only wanted more and more.
Normally when I read a book I find myself wanting the passion or romantic connection to happen as fast as possible. I want that heat and passion, that instant love. In this book, however; I kept hoping it would take its time as the push and pull was so very hot and well written that I could read about them forever.
I loved everything about this book and cannot wait for book two, three, four or how many ever will come. I am so excited to discover this world and this amazing author! If you are on the fence, take a chance like me and get this awsome book!!
Meagan Brandy.. ugh I don’t know if I want to hug her or punch her. Boys of Brayshaw High is her newest series and it’s freaking everything. The story follows Raven (Rae) and her interactions with the three Bray Boys. It’s hard to review without giving spoilers so I will just say this.. Meagan Brandy is ridiculously talented, this book is every bit as good as her previous books but so different. While again this follows high school students this book is for sure for mature audiences only. I’m dying for the next book in the series and I’m hoping it comes sooner than later! Five amazing, I couldn’t put this book down stars for this one!
I was engaged, engrossed, enchanted and utterly entertained by this story. I can see the gloves coming off with the guys in this story, everyone is going to be claiming them. Maddoc, Captain and Royce are a force, each with their own personalities yet these three together are one and it's intimidating, powerful and commendable. Not one really overshadows the other, yet they all stand out if that makes sense.
And then there's Rae, a baddass that has this vulnerability that makes you want to befriend her. Makes you want to cheer for her and makes you want to ensure that she knows what love is.
This book is about bonds, trust and loyalty. It's a slow burn with that teenage angst that I live for.
I’ve been eagerly awaiting Boys of Bradshaw High for awhile now. I saw the teaser somewhere and was hooked. The whole bad boys hate to love thing is my jam. This was my first book from Meagan Brady so I really didn’t know what to expect.
I can honestly say I have no idea what happened in the book. It was interesting enough for me to continue reading but I felt like the whole time I was waiting for more. There really isn’t a progression of plot. I couldn’t really tell you much besides the romantic relationships.
A few times it felt like I was missing something. There is a scene where she throws a girl’s ponytail at her. I assumed she pulled the girl’s extensions out or something. Nope later you find out she cut it off. However then it’s never mentioned again so it’s like it never happened. I feel like there were a few times I was suppose to know something that wasn’t said.
Raven is really hard to love. She constantly did the opposite of what everyone told her to do, even if she thought she shouldn’t. She never progressed past it either. She just continues doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
Those were my only issues with the book. The boys were great. I really fell in love with them all separately. They really weren’t horrible guys, but they did do a few questionable things. I felt like they all grew as the book went on. They certainly were attractive hot guys who made it pretty easy to like them.
The style of writing was enjoyable. A lot of times I find writers write high school books with a “youthful” dialogue that makes it hard for me to read. The characters were mature and acted beyond their high school age.
I’m on the fence if I’ll read book 2. I probably will to see what happens. I will check out the other books by the author and see how it goes. It was an okay book. Not one to skip but not one that is going to blow you out of the water either.
